2002 volvo s40 spark plugs.

Hello,
My Volvo is still doing the sluggish behavior at start up until a couple of minutes into the drive then it is normal. Cannot figure this thing out. However I did replace the spark plugs recently and have to ask, has anyone gotten any good results from a spark plug change? If so, which plug did you have those results with? I have installed the Autolites because the Champion plugs were no longer available. I went with the mid range autolites (High performance double platinum). My Volvo does not like them I suppose.
Anyway i live in Pembroke Pines area just north and west of Miami in south Florida and would like to hear from some of you locals out here. I think I will order the new Volvo plugs for my car since the car really performed well with those. I also thought a general tune-up would help with the sluggishness problem but it did not... any ideas?
