When did the transmission problems end?

Post by warcraftjunkie »

What year did the transmission problems for the 3.2 six cylinder engine end? Or did it? My wife is in the market for a new (used) car and I believe I've got her on board for an XC90. I like the 2.5T but I think she wants a newer vehicle than can be found with those. The 3.2 seems to be more plentiful than the V8. I think I seem to recall that it was 2007 and newer that were on the safe side, but not 100% certain.
If you can't laugh at yourself, someday you will be the only one not laughing.

The problem gearbox was the GM unit in 2003-2006 XC90 T6 models. 3.2 short I-6 never had anything but the AW TF80SC gearbox.

So far the tranny paired with the 3.2 has been good. It's only the GM transmission paired with the older T6 engine that's been bad.
