2002 s60 awd, srs-airbag service urgent
im getting a message that says srs-airbag service urgent, i had just recently pulled a bunch of fuses to see what has been draining my battery, and i also disconnected the negative terminal on the battery, right after i was messing with the fuses and battery i got the airbag message. Does this mean that my airbags don't work? and how can i fix it? Any suggestions would be appreciated. thank you

That was not too bright just randomly pulling fuses
Yes, you now have no working airbags

ok, do you have any suggestions to fix it?
The dealership or a Volvo indy shop needs to reset w their big fancy diagnostic computers. It isn't something that than can be done at home. My area shops charge $60-90 to reset that. Best of luck.

If you only have the yellow caution light with the "SRS-airbag service urgent" message and the red indicator for the airbags illuminates and then extinguishes normally when the engine is started the airbags are functional and working normally.
The problem is that you have a latched fault in the ABS module probably the result of removing one of the fuses to the dash cluster while the ignition was on or something similar.
The only way to clear the fault message is using a diagnostic tool, the dealer can do it or a local shop with the proper tools, what I did was purchase a diagnostic tool made from Autel called the MaxiDiag EU702 which has the ability to read and clear the AIR bag fault message as well as all the engine and ABS messages on Volvo's till 2005, the price was reasonable about the same as a single visit to the dealer.
hope this helps

My 2002 S60 had an issue with the air bag light on too. Service air bag system message on. Around the same time i did notice one night when walking buy my s60 parked in the driveway, that the dash cluster was lit up and still on. So on to MVS for some info, did find there was an issue with the printed circuit board on the back side of the cluster. I did send the cluster out for repair and did buy a Autel MaxiDiag for diagnostics and code clearing. Installed the new cluster and cleared the codes. All things Good so far Could it be the cluster staying powered up and draining the battery? Just make sure what the problem is before you send the dash out it is expensive $$$....Just my thought.
