My teens drive a 1995 Volvo 850 GLT.
First question: On the front left side of engine, there is a plastic hose (about 1" in diameter) with an accordian-like middle section. It cannot be rated for anything other than atmospheric pressure. Mine is cracked, but I can't find the name of this part anywhere. Even the Chilton's manual I have doesn't give it a name. What is it and what's it for?
Second question: Where can I find retention pins and/or springs for the turn signal assemblies in the front? None came with the new assemblies. I have them temporarily secured with bailing wire.
Third question: Looking for alternative sources for roof trim (from the lower windshield to the back of the roof) and replacement carpet (not floor mats). Any suggestions?
Fourth question: I bought some new trunk support struts from an auto parts (chain) store - even watched the sales person navigate through the Volvo windows. They don't fit - and even had my regular mechanic try to get them installed. I still have the receipt, but suspicious that there's more to the story here. Any experience with these items?

That hose is a cooling hose for the computers. It should route from the fan shroud to the computer cage. As far as I know there are no aftermarket suppliers so it will be a dealer part if your want to replace it. If it is just cracked I would be inclined to just wrap some electrical tape around it and call it good.

I cannot find them aftermarket anywhere so that is likely a junk yard part. The dealer might be able to get them as individual items but I wouldn't hold my breath.

If you don't want to replace the roof trim (expensive), you can take an hour or two, razor off the bad rubber, sand the aluminum, mask and spray paint semi-gloss black.
Done right, it's not bad at all

The dealer does sell the individual spring to hold the indicator light in. Part number is 3512790. About the roof trim, another alternative is to get S70 trim from a junkyard car. It seems to hold up much better than the 850 stuff.
