Is this Correct?*PICTURES* MBC & Boost gauge. 2000 S40

Post by ifitzwater96 »

I have had the MBC and boost gauge installed for over a year. Recently I replaced my Analog Boost gauge with a digital because it quit centering on Zero when shut off. For anyone interested in this install. Electrically it is very simple. Remove the headlight switch. My gauge came with a green, Red, and Black wire. Green is obviously the Gauge signal from the unit sender (Comes with the gauge has the Brass barb for hose attachment to car). I attached the Red (Power) to the solid Gray wire in the headlight switch. The Black (Ground) to the solid black wire in the headlight switch.

Now the reason for this post and pictures is I am noticing ZERO vacuum on my digital gauge. Boost maxes out at 9PSI no matter what I do with the MBC. So my question is. Is everything correct?

Thanks for the help.

It would be a good thing to have the TCS anchored. You should devise something to clip it unto. The vibrations would worry me, since it is a simple piece of plastic. It could crack on you and you will be out that much more money. I see the aftermarket intake, and the clip was on the original air box, but in my opinion I would try to keep it from being able to vibrate against something like that (strut tower?) there. A simple zip tie will work. Just my two pennies.
