I slowed the scrolling and made a page-load speed change to the scroller.
Page-load speed: for non-logged in users, the scroller shows only the name of the topic and time. It saves the server some CPU cycles and disk access. It cuts about half off the SQL query elapsed time.
As for the cut off words, I looked at it in IE9/Windows, Chrome/Windows, iOS 3.x, Safari/Mac, Firefox/Mac and Chrome/Mac, and it's ok. I think your browser has an old cached version of the stylesheet. You can request all new files from the server by holding down Shift key and clicking Refresh, generally. For each browser there may be a different way, and you'll have to consult Google for "hard refresh _________" where __________ is the name of your browser. Make sense?

Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.
Also -> Amazon link. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!
