After I realized my other Moondust was doomed and was to be parted, I found this one which was for the most part much nicer than the other one, however it needed a transmission.
So, parts that were needed including a perfect tranny from the first one were swapped over into this one which has almost the same miles (112K) but has a much stronger service history and a better ownership record.
The SE wheels and new tires came over, the new front brakes and rotors, some interior pieces (console, armrest, etc,) and some suspension pieces, incl. new e-brake cables, and some exterior parts (front bumper) were also swapped to this one.
I gave it its first road test today and she's a MUCH nicer driving XC than the other, in fact it's SUPER nice, quiet, solid and very smooth with a terrific suspension.
I did not swap the 3rd seat, however if anyone wants this XC and needs a 3rd seat, I suppose I can install it.
(I know, I still have to install the headlight wiper arms and blades)

It's near 85 today, Spring has sprung. 
As much as I love Gen 1s, I think I'm about done buying them, too hard to sell these days and impossible to buy.
Not only do almost ALL of them have too many miles, any that are for sale (wholesale) usually are complete pieces of crap or they just plain need too much mechanical work to make anything on them plus the fact that now they're from 13 to 15 years old!!!! and not many people want that old a car.
Still... where do you find a really good $5-$6K car that's more or less still fun to drive if properly set up and in good condition, still solid as a rock, crashes well (if unfortunately that happens) and COMFORTABLE...plus if it's a wagon, super useful and holds a ton of cargo!

It's pretty dried up out there now. Almost all of these that are available now are just very old cars with a ton of miles...and needing a tremendous amount of work.
Not worth the effort anymore
No one is going to pay 5-6K for one of these with 150K miles and still needing work.

Had a 97 850NA that was completely restored mechanically and then a texting teenager totaled it parked right in front of my house. I want another wagon so bad I can taste it, but cant seem to find many down here in TX.
