Have a 1992 240 the windows quit working one up one half open.checked fuses pulled relay out but where my book says it is under radio up from lighter its the relay for lights `headlights would not work when i unplugged it) Is this the right location for the window relay?

Here is a page that has pdfs of all the various Volvo model relay locations. It might be of some use to you.
Scroll down to the section that says "TESTING VOLVO RELAYS" and choose your model/year. If the relay in question is not in its proper place, at least you can test the other relays and see if they are in their proper place.

I would also check to make sure that your window fuse is clean, and that the terminals connections behind the fuse box are clean as well. If they look clean but dull, take a brillo pad or wire brush and scrape until they are shiny. Don't unplug more than one terminal at a time and always keep track of where the terminal connects, otherwise you will have a serious problem on your hands.
