New shocks and struts (what to get)
New shocks and struts (what to get)
My wife's -04 v70 new shocks and struts (basically just normal every day driving). She doesn't need the high end stuff but something middle down the road would be nice, any suggestions?

I replaced mine with the exact same ones Matt recommended. Nice shocks.
Assuming you are DIY, I suggest also looking into stabilizer end links. With the vehicle on the ground and front wheels pointed straight - see if you can easily rotate the links by hand. This for both front and rear. Since you will need to undo the links during shock replacement, it would be great time to refresh the links which are usual cause for rattle noise or sloppiness in handling.
Also IPD sells heavy duty strut top mounts, rounded mold pieces that cups the front springs. Middle rubber wears out which causes sag. If you have gap greater than 3/8inch between strut top washer and top of strut top bearing(visible from top with hood open) you will want to replace the strut top mount. Since you will need to disassemble it to replace the strut, now will be great time replace this as well. I've done it twice because the I did not use the IPD heavy duty unit the first time. The first set lasted less than a month here in Michigan winter roads.
