KYB shocks and struts:

http://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-s ... 850-sr1001 http://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-s ... 850-kg5747

Has anybody use these?
How do they compare with Sachs and Monroe?

I'm looking for something that wouldn't transfer every concrete joint on crappy Minnesota roads.

Yes, I have these on my car now. I must say that I was slightly over due for replacement (165 K miles) of the originals and got stuck on a road trip with these being my only option at the time. I only have about 5-10 K on these now and I am satisfied with them. Keep in mind my car is stock and I do not drive it hard and aggressive. It is difficult for me to compare the stock suspension with these only in that I was used to driving on a worn out noisy clunking suspension. I will say however now everything is quite and tight. If your on a tight budget and use the car as a daily driver go for them. They will do the job just fine. Also you must change all of the bushings and mounts. Regards, SpeedyPete

I had them on a Maxima, Grand Cherokee and my current 300c. I like them and have no complaints.

Can't talk to the KYB product although heard good things about their product. On my last 850 and my current 2000 V70R I have used Bilstien Touring shocks. They are taught but I like them better than the Bilstien HD's that were on the V70R. They made your fillings rattle.

On our 98 V70XC replaced old shocks with OE (Sachs/Boge). They run really well also and do absorb the bumps well.

As advised, replace the top spring seats and check the ball joints and control arm bushes.
