1997 S90 in Mexico--jerking/bucking under load

Post by jonmackey »

I've done quite a bit of searching on this very helpful forum, but was hoping to get some help narrowing down the possible answers to my problem. Since I am in northern Mexico, it's been impossible for me to find anyone capable of even pulling the codes for this machine.

The basic scenario is that I had an ignition coil fail while on a road trip. After replacing it, I experience intermittent loss of power/RPM dive when in hard acceleration or above speeds of 60mph. I've had this car for about a year and this is my first go at engines of this type.

The added degree of difficulty is that parts are a week's worth of waiting away. Anybody care to hold my hand on this one?

Well, this was the camshaft position sensor, for any future person doing a search. Of course it showed up immediately when I found someone with an able scanner. Easy fix, and not too expensive.
