2001 T6 oil trap
2001 T6 oil trap
So my s80 recently developed a slight oil leak, dripping from passenger side forward. I haven't got in to it for a good look but I suspect the oil trap. The car has 143000 miles. Can some one link a step by step for the job. Should I get the kit from ipd ($320)? I read about a hard to get to bolt on the trap, some say to break the old trap to get to the bolt. How would you be able to replace the bolt on the new trap? I'm decent at mechanics, is this a job I want to tackle or leave it to the pros? Your help is much appreciated. I have no books or mauals for this procedure. Thank you

There are 2 threads that cover it pretty good.
This has good information / pictures half way down the first post by zacharyzoosh's how to on replacing the cam seals and pcv system

The second thread has a picture on how to clearance the bracket after the breather box is broken/removed. I used a drill bit and grinding stone with my drill to create enough clearance for a 10mm socket.

If the hoses are in good condition, just ensure there is no blockage then replace the breather box and nipples. I replaced the box, short hose, and breather hose that attach the bottom of the box to engine block.
