It was Homer who suggested to set the service interval reminder to zero(0). Never again shall it lit.
But then the light will inflate like an invisible balloon.LOL!

For those who want to remove the service reminder bulb, here is a DIY I wrote a while back for the dash bulb. It is a bout 1-2h job (be careful with the airbag).
DIY: 1998 Volvo V70 Instrument Cluster Removal/Bulb Change
However, if people ask me what I'd do, I would strongly recommend black electrical tape, which is a 30-second job vs 1-2h for the dash bulb thingy.

Or, just learn to ignore it.
That's what I've done after owning a 97' for 11 years, and now a 98' for a year. I keep waiting for these bulbs to finally blow. But of course they are the ones that last the longest of them all

It's tricky, but many people have taken out that bulb without removing the cluster. Remove the panel and start feeling around up there, helps a lot to look at pictures of the cluster so you know which bulb it is.
And anyone who owns one of these aging Volvos, within a couple years will be pulling the cluster. A 194 or other cluster bulb out, and/or the inevitable broken odo gear broken. That's when you get rid of the bulb - take care of business while you are in there.

Last year I ran across a device that would do this reset. I think it was an English site, some fairly well known tool. I'm going to keep looking to see if I can find it again.
For me, it keeps me on my toes and reminds me to check the piece of paper I keep on the A pillar for change oil mileage.

Horrible advice, Shirley....Cut a piece of black electrical tape about 3/4" by 3/4" and place it over the light
It's 19mm x19mm, and the electrical tape colour must match the body exterior, of course.

Yeah, that was it. Pretty scarce now.
I found this at a Chinese site and was asking about volume pricing, say 50 units. Not too good, I was hoping for something like 3 to 5 bucks. The lamp is only lit for like two minutes anyway. Never actually bothered me much but then it usually has the Check Engine Light to keep it company anyway.
Dear Mr.
This is mia here, thanks for your inquiry.
The launch cresetter oil lamp can work on a 1998 Volvo V70 US model.
The price of this item is 107usd,the shipping cost is 31usd, so the total cost is 138usd.
If you wanna know more details, please do not hesitate to let me know.
The time I get it, I will answer you very soon.
With regards,
Mia
