my 2000 Volvo S40, 1.9T requires a person holding hood release open, and another lifting hood. could this be a stretched cable? any suggestions. thanks

Could mean you need to adjust your latches.
Usually by unbolting and lowering them. It does take awhile to get it just right but youll love it when you do.
