:( Bought a used 98 S40 Turbo. Guy told me I needed new bearings, which made sense because I had a loud whistle from the back end when test driving. Replaced bearings and bushings for 1000 US!!(I live in Saudi Arabia) and I have no noticeable improvement. Now, for the first time I am experiencing the erratic start/no start problem that others have posted about. If it is not the bearings, then what is making the loud whistling sound?? Help!
