Any Ideas to install LPT to 850NA

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

This question has been asked time and time again here and on other forums, always with the same conclusion:

It's not worth the headaches, time nor the money. It is better to sell your NA Volvo and buy a turbo'ed car if that's what you really want.

Thanks , understood this has been ask many times . In my country T5 is difficult to get but to get an engine half cut is much cheaper or a partial engine very much cheaper.
Is there a possibility to instal the LPT??
If I swap the engine with the turbo unit from S70 or the 850GLT'97 will there be lots of work on the wiring system as I do not want to rewired the wiring system

You probably won't have to re-wire perse, but you will need an ECU upgrade or a re-tune of your old one not to mention a different intake from the airfilter box to turbo, all IC pipes, an Intercooler and new (turbo) radiator that can cool your turbo with oil as well as coolant, and the lines from the radiator to run to your turbo. All said, in the U.S., you'll spend at least $2000 for all the parts and possibly as much as $4000 if you have someone do the work for you. In most cases the upgrade itself is not even worth the price of the NA vehicle. Hope this makes sense.

Sorry, I didn't understand your original question. Now I do...yes, as the ECU is different between your NA and a turbo model, you'll need a different ECU as well as different Wiring Harness. Depending on if your new setup has EGR or not, you'll have to get into removing it (or not) as well as the sepecific ECU for that as well (there are ECU's that include EGR and those that don't), plus because your setup is different, you still might need an ECU tune. Hopefully everything on your dash is already setup for your new system, but you may run into issues there as well. Guess what I'm trying to say is it's not worth it. If you want a turbo, sell your car and buy one with a turbo...will be much less headache and will cost you less in the long run.

Again as MIJ said, NOT worth it!
You really CAN find a car, (look harder) and it would be a whole LOT cheaper than trying this.
Not a very easy deal to do

but, isn't it true that up until like 1998, turbo'd cars were not available with a 5 speed transmission? Cause for me, that would be the reason that I would consider some kind of Turbo swap, because I absolutely DESPISE automatic transmissions...

I could be wrong on this though...
1997 855 non-turbo 5speed - 195k

1999 V70 non-turbo 5speed - 110k

I hear of people doing a tranny swap to a trubo car much more often than doing a turbo addition to a NA car. Go over to www.volvospeed.com and click on their message board...plenty of people over there doing this....but it costs them $$.
