Hi Everone,
I own a 2001 S40. I have to replace the CV Axles and noticed that the seals are leaking a little. How easy are they to replace? Does it require special tools?
Thanks in Advance,
Rick

Greetings from Mount Juliet,
When the axles are out you need to carefully remove the seals without scratching the bore they are in. They pry out easily. Take care to lube them where it will meet the cv shaft before re-installing the cv shaft.

use driveaxle seal from volvo only. pulling out is simple, putting it in needs extra care. better if it is seated and pressed in fully at the first attempt. keep dust away at all cost.rhlee222 wrote:Hi Everone,
