850 (non-turbo) 1997 - Making It Faster

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

I'm with 'the leave it as it is school'. That, at the end of the day is how it's meant to be.
I've owned an 850 96' T5 manual estate, cracking car & it went like stink.

I drove auto 850 T5s at work & later V70 T5 auto's (V70s never seemed to 'sit' as well).

I now have an n/a 2.5GLT (170hp) 20v. In my humble opinion this model is the 'best all-rounder'.

If you really want to go faster sell your n/a & get a T5 or faster.... T5R

I know I'm a few years late, but I own a 1994 n/a 5 speed with the yvis and a 960 throttle plate. I also have modified the airbox. My other car is a 1998 S70 T5. I have an open air intake and have upgraded the turbo control valve on that one. With that said.........there is NO WAY in hell my 94 can keep up with my 98. In a 1/4 mile, 1/8 mile, whatever distant you want. The t5 just has way too much power and torque. Even with the slight hesitation due to turbo lag, the n/a would not stand a chance. I will say this though, that n/a is a blast to drive. I put eibach springs on it, bilstein HD shocks and bilstein sport struts and it handles like it's on rails.
