Aftermarket HU, which harness do I need?

Post by diggler30 »

Hello all,

I am putting my Kenwood double din HU in soon and need help figuring out what harness I need. I have a 97 854R with the factory amp. I want to retain the amp and have purchased the din cable I need but I cant find the correct harness. Everything points me to a Metra 70-9220 but some sites say it wont fit my car. Please help me so I can start this project. The last thing I want is to dive into this with the wrong one. I have been searching for this with no definite answer.

Thank you for your help!

Hmm, doesn't say much, Volvo '93 & up, looks like in my 850, why would it not fit?
Though with that funny american loose end colorcoding system you have to do splice work anyways, you might as well look up the wiring diagram here @ MVS & splice straight into your cars harness, saves money & eliminates 1 connector as source for interferences, or you check on amazon or ebay UK (or other European sites if you're comfortable with the language) for a Volvo to Kenwood harness.

Good luck, Ben
