Vadis DVD , any tips or advise on how to use

Post by bobsnow100 »

I just purchased the Vadis DVD, I was looking for information, advise or tips . I am kind of having trouble finding things,or it taking me forever. I was trying to find out why my car surges at idle sometimes and have not been able to get to an answer.
Also it looks like can you link up your car to your laptop and I am not sure what I can learn by doing that.
Any tips or advise would be much appreciated

Bob, it's not very good for problem solving unless reading codes and then looking them up is what you're after. It's great for finding diagrams and how-to's and for looking up part numbers. If there is a TNN (TSB, or Service Bulletin) then that will list the cause as well as a fix. I find that these boards PLUS Vadis work very well together.

You'll need Volvo's expensive scanner to hook Vadis up to your car via a laptop. Conceivably if you have this and a subscription to the download service (very expensive) you can even do download "fixes" and updates to your car depending on what year your car is and what it needs/what's availabe.
