New Forum: Tools

Post by matthew1 »

MVS user Sergio emailed me with a good suggestion: make a forum devoted to tools. So I did.
Image
It's at the bottom of the whole list, not buried inside another group.

"General mechanical tools, Volvo tools, diagnostic tools including VIDA, VADIS, DICE and plain old OBD II, other software tools, and homemade tools."

And no, if VIDA comes up in say the P2 forum, we don't care/won't make a fuss. The new Tools forum is just a tool talk bucket. I'll also manage the MVS Tool Loaner Program™ from there*, which as of this writing, consists entirely of just the Delta Link tool.

I don't think I can help much, but...

So you have the PDF https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... php?id=887 and the bevel protractor tool?

Great forum idea. I must have spent $1,000.00 on tools in the last year alone. I need a few more things to really feel comfortable.
Inevitably there will be more, but I enjoy talking tools and gadgets.
Now that I am dealing with a '96 turbo, I have already ordered a Bluetooth, and OBD II to USB cable for ELM 327.
I should have it by Monday to play with so this may be a forum for these discussions.

I saw the PDF download, but it's for engine mount, not vibration damper. I do not have tool 951-2050. I can't even find any source for this tool. Where are they avail ?? How do you use it ?? Is it really needed for damper replacement ?? Don H
