CHECK STRAP CATCH BRACKET
CHECK STRAP CATCH BRACKET
Hi there all. My front driver door check strap catch bracket has failed. I have a replacement on the way & was wondering how difficult it is to replace. I have the tools to remove the door trim is there anything else I need to remove to get to this unit? Thanks

It really isn't that tough. A couple of bolts (or nuts depending on which one you have) hold the assembly to the door and one bolt secures it to the A post. Be very careful with the bolt on the A Post, it is at an odd angle and it is easy to cross thread the bolt.
The after market replacement parts are horrible and they will break again within 6 months.

It becomes a huge pain if the welds on the door frame are broken, but otherwise it's a fairly simple job.
