heater core 960: Yes, you can do it too!!

Post by tomatoes4all »

Hi all,
Over the past few days I have replaced the heater core of my 1993 965. I took my time, made plenty pictures as a reference, labelled lots of zip-lock baggies with fasteners, had another cup of tea when it all become too much and I felt like throwing torx screwdrivers around while yelling abuse at the Volvo engineers, did not break too many plastic bits in the process, found some loose bits and pieces and cleaned my carpets and seats while they were out. Overall, a job not very hard, just very fiddly, involved and hard on the back.
For anyone contemplating this job: don't be scared, just do it!

Erik (smiling from ear to ear, while now enjoying a nice warm car). :D
