Looking for 1998 v70 AWD Driveshaft

Post by deepsouth »

Purchased a 1998 V70 AWD at auction and didn't realize someone had removed the driveshaft. While I don't really need AWD in Georgia I'd like to get the car back in shape. Anyone have a used driveshaft and support?

thanks!

You need to know if you have an early car or later production
There are TWO shafts for 98 and you MUST have the correct one (the other won't work)!
Production date should be on your left door jamb

Do Not Buy From this Seller. If I actually get my parts I'll fix this but everything about this transaction was very fishy and he has stopped replying to my messages even though he is still on the board!!

The prop could have been removed due to it failing but it also could have been removed to cover up a fault elsewhere within the AWD drive system so unless you really need the AWD I would leave it alone or you could be chasing a costly fix if the transfer box is shot or the viscous unit is playing up - Mike

Thanks mike! I thought about all of that but was basically looking for a summer project to tinker with. I found a 1989 wagon for $200 that currently has my attention. ;)
