Door mirror problem ?

Hi,

My father took my Volvo S80 in vacation and while driving he has hit the right door mirror in a wall the mirror is ok it has just some little scratches in the mirror cover also the motor works but in the middle of the the way of opening or closing it stops moving but the motor still works but it looks like some of the teeth has gone out of the place , so my question is can i take off the motor that opens and closes the mirror and how this procedure is done ?
