1993 240 tail light assembly / windows

We just bought a 1993 240 - the rear right tail light assembly is bad so we are waiting for the part to arrive. In the meantime, we replace the fuse so we could use the car - (the shift lock override has to pressed in order to get in gear now without the tail light assembly working) - this worked fine for a day - now the windows won't go up or down - is this related to the tail light assembly or could this be a new, unrelated problem? Also - we need a new instrument cluster - does anyone have a good idea where to purchase this? It seems very hard to find.
Any help would be so much appreciated!

It sounds like you have a lot of separate issues going on here and without more info it's going to be difficult to help you.

The tail light assembly working or not working should have no effect on the shift lock override, nor should this affect the windows.

Try checking your fuse box to see if you have any blown fuses and whether all the fuses and connections are clean.

Also, what is wrong with your instrument cluster?

Thanks for replying - we got the tail light figured out - since it was out it was blowing the fuses for the shift lock override - not sure what the deal was with the windows - they are magically working again. The engine temp was showing almost to the red area - the mechanic said it is bad because the tested the temps several times and it was normal - so it was showing a false high - the clock works, as does the speedometer but the odometer doesn't work at all - I think the odometer is a separate issue that can be replaced without replacing the entire instrument cluster, is that right? This is my 16 year old son's car and we love it but can't afford to have major repairs - hopefully we'll have some smooth sailing for awhile - this website has been a tremendous help and sense that "someone" is out there with advice! Being a single mom with 3 kids and two jobs keeps me crazy busy and I can't be driving around picking up my stranded 16 year old! Thank you!!!!

The odometer can indeed be repaired. Here is a good guide for that:

The temperature gauge is also a separate problem that can easily be repaired once you have the instrument cluster removed from the vehicle. There is a good photo tutorial out there somewhere, but I can't find it right now, so this will have to do:
