Radio and sound system

My 240 came with a 100 amp sound system. I thought that was about the craziest thing going to put into a Volvo. I could never stand the volume above about 1/4 strength so why put in such a powerful system? A friend who worked on sound systems his whole life said that most systems are engineered so that the best sound clarity is at about 1/2 of the potential output. So, who is going to crank it up to 50 amps except some young kid.....and were young kids buying new volvos?
Anyway, the first time I had a problem with it, I threw it out and put in a 30 amp. Sony...beautiful sound.
