I have to charge my AC every 4 weeks.(3 if we go on a long trip somewhere)
Should I keep charging it at about 9 bucks a can of Freon or get it repaired?
I live in Mississippi so I'm looking at regular AC use through end of September and into October.
I would have to charge it in July and on so that's about 40 or 50 bucks the rest of the summer depending on use.
and by the way, does this stopleak stuff for the AC actually work?
Thanks in advance.
Give your opinion: AC repair?Does stopleak work?

Every 4 weeks?
1 You arent doing the rest of us a favour blowing Freon into the environment. The new type, R134A, is nicer that the old R12 but it still isnt good for us a species.
Eventually, the leak and ensuing moisture in the system will start damaging components from internal corrosion - once the compressor seizes up you will have to replace it to have a running motor - even if you give up AC.
Stop leak for a leak requiring so much Freon will not work, certainly not permanently.
Put some Freon with Dye in it and see if you can find where it is leaking - its probably the dreaded evap core though. 90 USD part, but big labour to remove.
