Just how rare is your Volvo

Post by precopster »

Found a great read in the glovebox of our new (to me) S60 today.

A great Volvo journal covering years 1927-2004.

The photos I published show the build numbers (quantity) of the early V70/S70 and all 850s

I have others I can publish upon request.

After comparing the 960/S90/V90 production numbers I can see why it's so hard to find parts for the engines here in Australia. (they're around 1/10 of the number of 850s and P80 series S70s and V70s)

Hi Mike--
That's a neat find! Thanks for posting up the build numbers. What is the name of the journal?

Wish there was a way to track current numbers, other than counting them at the junk yard. :p

no numbers for R and T5 models? i notice a lot more S60 T5s than P80 T5s - the former are almost common, whereas the latter seem like unicorns.

The figures include all engine capacities so this includes all variants as well as sport versions.

I like to think that having a 97, is like having the last of the real Volvos. Pre-CBS for all the guitar players out there.
