Well, my 850 just got stolen

... from a post office parking lot. No, not towed. I spoke to the supervisor there.

I'm waiting for a cop to show up to get a full report. Already filed over the phone with DPD.

They used my spare key. Ugh.

I'm sorry that happened to you.

Let me know everything I can do to help. I have some 850 spare parts around (small stuff) an obviously anything you need is yours. That includes tools, any work I can do here for you and if needed - my butt on a bus to come help.

Thanks everyone, your support is great.

I'm not torn up about it. To be philosophical, things like this are among the reasons I started MVS.

Cars are great, but to most MVS users, they're a necessary evil, one that simply sucks money out of pockets when they break. By owning a car, you sign a deal that binds you to a random myriad of disappointment and frustration. This is that.

I have been in the car fixing biz for a long time and I learned a long time ago that you should try to not get too attached to any piece of machinery. I'm not succeeding at this completely with the 04 V70R I have now. I like it WAY too much. But if it went away tomorrow I'd find another or something else entirely that I like.
There are things like family and even your pets that you can use your "worry" on. Cars can be replaced.
