In your photo, the spark plug wire says "Autolite". Bougicord is much better because aftermarket spark plug wire is known to cause misfire that you mentioned (search forum).

Would it be possible to purchase another female connector? Is it safe to try and re route the wires?

I'm going to visit my local junk yard this weekend. Are there any other models that are interchangeable with the 98 S70 non turbo?

On a simple note, why can't you use generic wire + butt connectors and simply reconnect to the existing system.
PS: I may be wrong but 1993-98 use the same MAF, so the connector should be the same for 1993-1997 850 and 1998 S/V70 models. So, if you see any cars in the junkyard that fit these years, then you are OK, cut the wiring as far back as possible.
If you run into problem, let me know.

You can't purchase the MAF connector wire separately, it is part of the entire engine harness. Cutting one out of a junkyard car is a good way to go.
The 93 and early 94 use a different part number and style of MAF than your 98, so the connector may be different too. You could send PM to Ben850 he has both types of cars and could provide an answer in an instant. But I would look for newer models (basically any 95-98, turbo or non-turbo, 850 or S/V/C70) or eyeball the MAF to match the connector up with yours before you clip it.

I'll preface this post with a big thank you to everyone in the thread. Your help expedited this entire process and I'm very grateful. Having said that, I wanted to let everyone know I went to the junk yard today and boy did I hit the Jackpot. I left there with 2 MAF sensors and 2 Connectors; Plus some non-motor related items I needed. I wasn't able to trace the MAF cable wires back to a central location because one wire seemed to split off into the fuel rail somewhere and the others were buried in a mess of other wires heading back to that black box(?) on the passenger side under the hood. I snipped them at considerable length and took them back to my house. I re-spliced the new connector with the existing wiring and swapped out the MAF with one that I got from the junkyard.I started the car up and it ran poorly for about a half of a minute and then it evened out and sounded much better and the gas smell I was experiencing before is virtually non-existent. Took it for a test drive and noticed a considerable power increase and smoother drive ability. I'm going to borrow a friend's OBDII tester on Monday to clear the codes and see what codes resurface. Crossing my fingers and hoping these misfires are gone. On a side note, does anyone know if used, working MAF sensors have a market on Ebay or any other site? I now have 2 working MAFS that I don't particularly need.

Used MAF is about $20-$30 on ebay.
IMO, not worth selling it because after you pay for shipping, ebay fees and paypal fees, a $30 sales ends up with only $20 in your pocket.
Keep the MAF b/c in my experience, a brand-new MAF average lifespan is about 90K-100K.
And all 3 you have now are used with unknown mileage.

Used, working MAFs go for about $40. You should be able to sell them pretty easily here or on eBay. But you will want to make sure they are indeed working - you replaced both the MAF and the wiring. I'd run it for a week as is, if it is perfect then test out each MAF for a few days. If any of the MAFs are non-Bosch, then I would never try to sell them as their longevity and history is very spotty.
I'd keep one around as suggested, they eventually go bad. Sometimes they fail as early as 100k but *average* is going to be much higher, like 150k. I've only ever had one go bad on me, even that was on an 850 that came to me with a bad (aftermarket) MAF already.
