This 960 has an AC that wont come on. The front of the compressor seems loose like the clutch is blown. Is there any hope for it or does it need to be changed?

The driven plate is separated from the driven hub on compressor shaft. THe reason this usually happens is a locked up compressor.
Junk that compressor.
The silver lining: the clutch gap is not a problem.
