Crazy Question: '98 S-70!

Post by badamson1 »

I bought a 98 s 70 last week. It's a one owner vehicle with 40k miles, great shape! While cleaning it over the weekend I noticed something wierd and didn't know if it was standard for 98, being this is my first Volvo. I'll try and explain it as best as possible.
If you look at the driverside rear door, the doorframe to the right of the window comes down and slants into the window. This peice of the door frame is painted silver. However, if you look at the same area on the passenger side of the vehicle, the peice that slants into the window is black not silver like the rest of the vehicle. Both sides look as if they could have came factory. The vehicle has never been repainted or in an accident (so I was told and reported on car fax). Any ideas?
