@jblackburn:
Might be the case aswell....now i am not pretty much sure no more - when i did the job i forgot how it was - went to google a picture and attached as pictured...but now i see different pcv connections of the two upper pcv hose attachments in several pictures...

Now i do not remember, but i think i connected the hoses as picture shows from the first two links shows (the one nearest to the engine to the top and the far one to ptc nipple )

Now i do not know - what is the right connection? :S never noticed this several configurations, but will make first look at this....i have 01 T5 C70 ( me7)

One fast question: what is the point of hose which leads from pcv hose ( splitter No9 )to intake manifold ( No13)on the link?

This one was totally blocked/clogged and had to drill a hole with machine it was so much clogged - what is the purpose of this hose - can i block it? :) Did this affect no more smoking dipstick after it got clear and is possible that this started oil blowing through dipistick after?

Sorry for so much questions....and thanx!

Provides vacuum at idle. The turbo provides vacuum on the suction side when driving under boost (since the intake manifold is now pressurized from air being forced into the cylinders).

Don't block it.

Oil usually comes out under boost though. Rev it and see if there's still smoke from the dipstick.

Aha OK, thanx.
Yes, it spills/blows oil only under full boost, cant test in neutral or park, since i have rev limiter at 3.000 rpm when in "P" or "N" - automatic - but at idle - air sucking "in" through dipstick - but before 5/8" hose modification - steam was smoking out of dipstick and had no oil blowing through it when pusshing it to the max.....it's really not logical for me :S

I'd use 5/8" fuel line for better oil resistance. Heater hose will fail a California smog check if the tech notices.

VolvoC70T5 if you are still reading: I would check and make sure the 5/8 line is not kinked somewhere.

I have only used a heavy duty heater hose (Gates Green Stripe) when I do this, because standard cheapo heater hose kinks easily and the bend under the intake manifold is pretty tight. The GS hose is $3 per foot but you are still saving tons of money and hassle. The fuel line idea is a good one, too, I may try that on the next one I do.

Update...

It has been now 10 months using standard 5/8-inch heater hose.
Zero issues whatsoever.
As mentioned previously, just make sure there are no kinks in the hose.

Cn90, I owe you a couple beers.

You just saved a friends 260,000+ mile 1994 850 Turbo from the scrapheap. This thing was leaking oil everywhere, smoking like a chimney, and had just had a PCV system replacement in the past 2 years - most of the system still looked brand-new.

Took everything apart, lower port, oil trap, and the big hose were completely clear. I'll admit, I wasn't too hopeful seeing that. Once it started up and warmed up, there is NO smoke from the dipstick at idle, and only a very, very small tiny bit when the throttle is suddenly punched.

Great idea sir, hats off to you.
