1994 Volvo 850 Turbo for sale 147k, ask $1300 CA

Mileage is 147,548. I have owned the car for almost 2 yrs and am the second owner. I hate to sell it but it needs to go to a good home for someone to give it some TLC. I have driven the car to and from work which takes approximately 5-10 minutes one way. If I remember right it had 144,000 and change when I bought it in 2011. Other than as a work car, I did not drive it much. Below is what I know the vehicle needs or is an issue:

Check engine light is on (I have not attempted to smog it or had it checked to see why the light is on)
Tires
Tune up - Original owner did not drive it much the previous year before selling to me
Oil drip I believe coming from drain plug (I may be incorrect in that but it looks to be from that area)
Brakes
Coolant flush/fill
Trunk lid struts
Antennae does not go down
Airbag cover on dash has been removed (airbag is still in tact and operational)

The sides of the car look nice when clean as indicated in the pics, but the paint on the hood, roof and trunk lid shows serious signs of age.

The interior is not bad but the driver and passenger seats have rips and tears.

There does appear at times to be a milky substance on the dipstick. I have posted on this website and received numerous responses as to what it may be. Everything from a head gasket to condensation to it is normal for these engines, especially if they do not get driven much. I do not know the reason, I just want to be honest in representing the vehicle.


I paid $1800 for the vehicle. I do not want to mislead or misrepresent the vehicle, it needs some work. To me it seems like it would be a great first car for a teenager once the identified areas have been taken care of. I am asking $1300 obo. If anyone is interested, we can discuss further on the board and/or exchange phone numbers.
