98 s90 Leather Seats
So mileage and San Diego heat has caught up with my leather seats. I am contemplating my options. I got one quote from an upholstery shop for over $1600 for both front seats. I have one Volvo wrecker in town, so I have limited options to pick some replacements... but even so, are the seats on the newer models compatible with the older framing? I saw a similar thread for earlier 850's, and with some modifications, backward compatibility was possible.

You should be fine with 95 and later 960/S90/V90 seats. The earlier seats are different, and 850/S70/V70 seats don't bolt in. What color is your interior? There are some cars with nice seats local to me in Tempe AZ.
I recovered the seats in my 960 with vinyl for about half the price of leather, FYI

I wouldn't think to go backward in years. I would suspect older seats would not be much better than what I have now. I am mostly interested if the newer s80 or s60 seats will bolt in... I test drove a newer s40 about 5 years ago. I did not like the seat at all.
