What is your engine serial number?

There are two different kits that depend on the serial number of the engine and it appears that you have the wrong kit on the car. I ran into a similar problem on a '96 NA and I had to split the new foam hose and mix and match the components. It was a mix of old and new.

From the sounds of things you don't have an original to work from so a VIDA diagram give some clues. The small line from the PTC valve on one of the versions looks like it just goes to the vacuum tree rather than the nipple on the end of the intake manifold.

Trace all of the lines from your vacuum tree that are there now and post back where they go. You definitely need a line from the vacuum tree to the fuel pressure regulator.

To All,

I ran a new line from the fuel pressure regulator to the back of the vacuum tree ( the side where it's facing the exhaust manifold) and I tapped into the PCV hose and ran it to the front of the tree (on the side that's facing the fan). Here are two pictures:

Does it matter what side of the vacuum tree the new lines are hooked too?

It's just ridiculous to me that the PCV hose was hooked up to my Fuel Pressure Regulator. When I take that hose off the vacuum tree that I have it attach to now smoke flows out of it!

No wonder why I had smoke coming out of the exhaust the way I did!

The two main reasons I did this job was to resolve the smoke coming out of the dipstick and the exhaust.

Is it normal for smoke to come out of that hose though?

I hope I'm not bothering everyone with all these questions I have (they're probably dumb).

That's exactly what I had to do, I will post back in the morning with the rest of the vacuum lines that are running to the tree.

I just want to say, I thought I had turbo before pshhhhhhhhh! I can't believe the total difference now how the car picks up!!! I know I may sound a little bit over excited but this is my first turbo car and I love it!!

Thanks to All, now I got to figure out how to get this smoke and oil from coming out the dipstick.

Try a larger hose.
