2008 XC70 Vacuum pump replacement

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and this is my first post (please take it easy on me).

I had my 60k maintenance done today and the dealer called me and told me that my brake vacuum pump is leaking. The dealer wants almost $700 to fix it. The guy was kind of nice and told me that the part is the most expensive, but the work is quick and easy. He also mentioned to me that i should be fine for next few months. I don't really know how this leaking pump impacts braking therefore safety, thus it makes me a little uncomfortable.

So, my questions would be; how difficult is to do it myself? if not difficult, do i need any special tools? and last question, how does volvo vacuum pump compare to HELLA - volvo brake vacuum pump sold by FCP Euro since it's almost half price.
