Cool! Have you watched the links at the end of the video? Note to self: must watch less YouTube, unless it is scientific. Cheers, Erik.

Hmm Latvia, Burma and the USA. Still holding on to excellence :geek: Are there any plans afoot to metricate the USA or is that just too radical at the moment?

There is no need to metricate the USA, both systems, metric & US customary have been legal for trade in the US for the last 200 years or so, since the metrication act of 1975 the US federal government is exclusively using the metric system, if one lives in the US & thinks metric is the better system: start using it!

btw: Latvia is using the metric system too, that 3rd country was somewhere on the west coast of Africa.

Hey I sense some defensiveness there!! Not trying to get under anyone's skin here, just a conversation :) Theory and practise are very different agendas. The metric system needs to be brought in and taught at a school level if implementation is to truly occur. Yes you're right it was Liberia, not Latvia.

I was in the 3rd grade when our primary teacher snapped his yard ruler over his knee and said "this will be no more" and proceeded to provide metric rulers and measuring devices in the classroom.

I was only 8 at the time yet my family held on to their yard and inch rulers and hardware stores continued to sell tape measures in both metric and imperial. Today (40 years on) you can't buy a measuring device in Australia with inch increments. When this happens in the USA that is when the USA will be ready to merge.

In NRL football what line did that linebacker cross when he hit touchdown?
