2006 C70 Brake vacuum booster problems

Post by devangelisti »

Hi all, My 2006 C70 seems to have a problem with the Brake vacuum booster. It was making noise(on) for no apparent reasom after the car was shut off. Now it makes no noise at all and the brakes feel like I need to press hard on the pedal to stop. Could this be a bad vucuum pump or a vacuum switch? I tried to search for a replacement switch, but could not find any..
Please, any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Darryl

You are listing symptoms describing the vacuum switch failing and then the pump failing. Usually if the fuse blows the check engine light will come on as the heating circuit for O2 sensors goes down when that fuse goes open.

ok.. my guess is that the fuse is ok..I was afraid that both parts were faulty..Do you know where I could get the parts? I looked at FCP and they have no listing on the parts.

Thanks again,
Darryl

Just a note, I called a Volvo dealer up to get the price on the vacuum switch..they could not find one for my car. They have the pump, but no switch listed. Could it be that the switch is intergrated with the pump?
