1999 S80 T6 Engine Missed; Message Check Engine & Emission?
Hi: Kinda new. 1999 S80 T6. Please, does anyone have any idea what might be wrong please.? Everything was fine. Last night started car, engine started missing. Then, rec'd message about checking engine and something about emmissions. I plan to have someone check to see if there are any codes. Just was hoping that maybe someone else experienced this and could give some insight. Afraid of repair cost! THANK YOU!

Check your charge air pipe that attaches to the underside of the ETM it comes loose a lot. And it can be very deceiving with its leaks. if the nut/clamp is loose it leaks, if it is old it leaks, if it slips down it leaks, etc. The symptoms are as you described.

I would check the wiring harness to the coils, I have a 1999 T6 as well, wire insulation is starting to split. It started as a misfire (not firing at all) on one of my coils that was intermittent for a time. The other day it started consistently misfiring, that is when I finally dug in and found a 1/4 inch split on one of the wires to my coil that was grounding out on the valve cover. Temp fixed it with electrical tape until I can make a more permanent solution. Likely I will be fixing it with some shrink tubing or even I have heard of people using thin wall tube to insulate the break in insulation.
