Driver seat and pass front window

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

You need to scan the car to work out if the PDM and DSM (driver's seat module) are faulty.

Try disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting all the wires to these two modules. The passenger door module is actually the circuit board which is part of the window switch. It has two boards inside which are connected by a ribbon cable. Often there is corrosion at the ribbon cable and disconnecting and reconnecting the ribbon cable joining the boards can help.

If the window doesn't raise to the correct position you can program it with the eBay version of Vida/Dice.

Hi thank you for the quick reply, as for the window I did find the ribing wire connection broken on the big board. As for the seat yes when I disconnect the battery and reconnect it does work but not for long. The wire white and green is the module wire is this where my problem could be? And you said that I can use the vida to program the window switch and seat? And also clear code?
Thanks

Seat modules either work or don't work as far as I'm aware of; I haven't heard of anyone programming their seat module, however you can reset the window by means of a calibration process on the PDM module. You can't do a PDM reload without a full licensed version of Vida.

If the PDM is no longer working you can buy a used one from the same year and model and it should work OK.

Hi precopter this what I have a 2000 s80 and a 2001s80 for parts, and yes you are right I took the seat from the 2000 and it work fine on the 2001. As for the pass side window I bought used on and pluged it in and no it didn't work. Now my question would be what would I have to transform from the 2001 as for module for me two get this to work, I know the key also has to come but can you tell me what other module I would have to transfer? And can it be done? As for the vida I am will to get it if it will help but just to let you know I do have a snap on scanner that will read the cods but it does not program so will the vida do more then the snapon?
Thanks for your help if it would be easer to email or call please let me know and I can send you my number

Does the new PDM work for controlling anything such as electric mirror on passenger side?

If not have you checked the PDM fuse?

Hi, precopster I just came to work I tried the driver switch to see if the pass side mirror work, no it does not. I replaced the pass side switch from a used junk yard not the driver. Let me ask you this can I take the driver and pass switch and the ECM off the 2002 s80 that I now it's working and try it on the 2000 and see if everything will work or will that be a problem? Thanks
