Hi does the Vidal scan tool allows me to reprogram modules in my Volvo s80 ? Please let me know thanks

Vida is software. It can use either a Dice interface tool or any other Vida compliant scan tool.

The licensed version with paid subscription time and pay-per download for each software program can reprogram modules in any post '98 Volvo excluding the V40s and S40s which went onboard with this system in later years. You can access downloads and pay for a full licensed versions of Vida from www.volvotechinfo.com

The eBay version can ONLY read codes and do a limited amount of adaption such as DDM (driver's door module) or PDM (passenger door) or adapt Bosch throttles (not Magnetti Marelli ones which require a full licensed software part number download)

The eBay versions of the software can perform ETM tests and also fully access a huge number of diagnostic tests for individual components.

Hi precopster, ok I was able to find my problem with the window and the seat. I have cleared all the codes with my scanner but now I need to relearn or update the used pass side window switch. This is so crazy if the window switch does not work it will not let the driver seat and the sun roof work. Please can you explain to me if this vida tool will work or do I have to get the tool and buy the software for the window? Because there is no one that has giving me any information on this tool. Thanks for the help

Disconnect the battery, then short the negative lead to the positive terminal and then reconnect the battery while the key is in Pos II . The problems you're having with sunroof and seat aren't related to the PDM.

Hi precopster thanks for all the help, I just did what you told me and the window did not work. I have a code of E003 needs configuration and the same thing for the seat. My scanner is a Pegisys it will look up all codes and erase them but it will not allow me to program, that's why I wanted to know if the vida would? Now am I understanding you correct the vida only allows to read and clear the code and not program the Switch

Full version as explained above does programming. You need to purchase a short-term license and pay per download from Volvo if you want to do this.

The PDM has no relationship to sunroof or seat.

Seat module controls seat function only.

So many modules on the S80 yet I can't find any control of sunroof from their functions list.

Have you checked fuse for sunroof and switch for corrosion?
