Hello folks, on my S60 the cabin screen says "boot is open" but the lid is definitely locked. The lock does not respond to auto unlock but I can lock the car doors and unlock them with my key.
I can only enter by using the key in the hidden access next to the plate lights. This started a week ago for the first time.

From the sounds of it though I would suspect the wiring has broken rather than the mechanism.
Loosely related, here is some info about the boot lid mechanism: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... =9&t=21516 . Be sure to be logged in to see photos.
Perhaps if you get to that area you could get a reading, and see if when you press the 'open boot' key or whatnot if you get a pulse of electricity.
