2001 V70 T5 Manual, 3rd Row Seat,Golden CO

Post by CoVoVo »

We are somewhat regretfully selling our 2001 V70 T5 Manual WITH 3rd Row Seat. I looked a long time for this car, as it’s pretty darn hard to find. In the end, we have decided that a small fuel-efficient commuter is a better fit for us (we just purchased a VW TDI to replace the Volvo).

We have about $15k invested in this car over the last year (see the exhaustive list of work performed below), and I believe it is in exceptional mechanical condition. It runs and drives almost like new. I have in my possession ALL maintenance records since the car was brand new (I am not the original owner). Adult owned & driven. I don’t really know where to price the car, so lets say asking $12k and BEST OFFER TAKES IT. Located in Golden, CO. I’m willing to help arrange shipping. I would also entertain trades for something AWD or for a pickup truck.

The car has almost every option offered, except for navigation.

- 5 Speed Manual Transmission
- Ash Gold Metallic Paint (code 446)
- 3rd Row Seat, seats 7 passengers (Convenience Package)
- Cold Weather Package (heated seats & mirrors)
- Sunroof
- Dolby Pro-Logic Premium Sound System (HU-803)
- 17” Performance wheel & tire package
- Memory Seats & Mirrors (3 memory positions)
- Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC)
- Front & Rear Fog lights
- Euro roof rails
- Tinted Windows

The car is essentially stock, although it does have the following “tasteful” modifications:

- “R” Exhaust Manifold
- SNABB Performance Turbo Intake
- Silicone Vacuum Lines
- SNABB Short Throw Shift Kit
- GROM Audio Ipod/Iphone Controller, routed through center console

The other unique aspect of this car that I really like is that it has the 40/20/40 split rear seat, which means that the Volvo integrated cooler box can be used (fantastic for road trips!). Also, the center-folding seat is great for long items (e.g., skis).

I put a receiver hitch on it for the sole purpose of carrying bicycles with our rear-mount Kuat rack. The car has never been used for towing.

The car overall looks very nice, although it does have some door dings and a slight dent over the rear wheel well. I suspect that with a trip to a paintless dent repair specialist, this could be mostly removed. The car needs nothing mechanical, and should be maintenance free for quite some time.

I want to emphasize that the following list of work has all been done within the last 1yr/8,000 miles (I have receipts & documentation):

Engine Work:

Engine Replacement: used low mileage replacement (113k). The replacement engine received the following upon installation:
Water Pump

I would like to make a clarification.

I was never expecting to get $12k for this car. I do expect to get more than "book value" for it. I do believe a "market-based" approach is the easiest way to determine what its worth. For anyone that is seriously interested in buying it, I am happy to have a polite and civilized conversation about it in order to reach a number that seems fair to both of us.

This is a great car overall, and I look forward to passing it on to another enthusiast who will appreciate it like I have.

It's a beauty, alright! Much to love about it. And I understand you about the pricing. I just sold my 2005 V70R (for $10,900) and it was as nearly perfect as yours. But it was automatic (and AWD).

I just wanted to say.... Good luck!

Quick question: Do you have the car? I have sold all my wheels including my 2-wheeled BMW.

I'm motivated!
