Forum category re-alignment coming up

Spurred by MadeInJapan's good advice, I've decided to re-align the forums like this:

1 Volvo 850, S70, V70 and C70 Forum
becomes Volvo 850, S & V70, C70, XC-70 1993-2000 Forum

2 Volvo XC70, V70 XC Cross Country
goes away, contents merged with either 1 or 5, depending on car year

3 Volvo 240, 740, 760, 940, 960 Forum
stays

4 Volvo S40, V40 and V50 Forum
stays

5 Volvo S60 Forum
becomes Volvo V70, XC-70, S60 2001-Present Forum

6 Volvo XC90 Forum
stays

7 Volvo S80 Forum
this is a P2 car, merge with 5?

8 Volvo 440, 460, 480 Forum
stays

If the category isn't listed here, it stays.

Unless someone knows differently, the S80 should be its own forum with all of its different model years...it may be a P2 car (some of the years) but it's different enough.

Matt, also how about a new "General Volvo and Off-Topic" Section?
This way FWD/AWD and RWD folks can meet and talk not only about our cars but other stuff. In that section we can have Announcements that affect the entire board as well....not sure if my title is appropriate or not but something like that is what I had in mind.

Sounds good. I think it's been a P2 car since day 1.

I'll make Volvo Events and Car Talk into Events, Car Talk, MVS Forum & General Discussion. If things don't go well with the General Discussion end of it, I'll remove that.

We're underway with this. The XC forum threads have been migrated to their correct new forum, depending on the year of the car in question.

I'm currently working on 850, S70, V70, C70, XC-70 1993-2000 Forum -- moving the newer P2-car threads to the 2001-Present forum.

All forums are up and running.

The only exception is the now-unnecessary Volvo XC70, V70 XC Cross Country forum, which is locked.

I agree.
Keep the S80 separate. They have their own set of owners and problems

On JRL's advice, I took C70 out of its grouping and made it its own category.

Ok, this is complete. (Has been for a few days).

Let me know if you have suggestions on improving it or anything else here at MVS.
