2001 V70 T5 Seat controls do not work when cold

As my subject says the drivers seat controls for moving forward/back/up/down do not work when the temperature gets below 50. After the car warms up or the outside temperature does the controls work as they should. This has been going on since last year.
Any ideas?

I would check the connectors under the seat to make sure they are clean and making good contacts.

You maybe able to spray the inside with some electrical contact cleaner or take it apart to clean it

The problem is not that they do not work, they do, just not in cold weather.

I believe there is now old dirty, thick, hardened, gooey etc.. electrical grease on the Contacts which when cold is hindering it's function. Remove the part and spray electrical contact cleaner or take it apart and clean it. The contacts can be cleaned with a pencil eraser or very gently with very fine sand paper.

Thanks for the ideas. I looked at the video but it does not show how to remove control module. Does it come out easily?

If you search for seat removal, you will be able to see and read about how to disconnect and connect the cables for the seats. When cold, things shrink based on physics. Therefore the connectors and pins in them tent to lose connects, especially if they are dirty. Clean them up and reconnect them should help.

You may want to do the google search on this topic, using the key words like 2001 v70 t5 front seat removal. You will get more information that way. You may not be able to find exactly what you want to know. However if you do some reach and try to make sense of the information presented to you. That's how I got information to fix my front seat. You can do this.

If you still can find enough information, I will put together my DYI. I recently repaired the top leather skin of mine front seat. In the process of doing that, I had removed the front seat and reinstalled it. It is not that difficult but it does take some time. I will need to find some free time to put together a write up so it won't be soon.

I thought about doing a DIY document for what I did, but just don't have time lately. Take detail pictures will help, because when you are ready to install, you can follow the reversed steps so you can remind yourself about any details.
