Well I dug up this post to show where "Z" is at. Named my Volvo after watching World War "Z" last night. She doesn't look like she will die soon. The chink in her armor will be the axle. For now she is still rolling.
It will take about two weeks or less to hit the mark.
I wanted to be safe, so I slowed to almost 70 before taking the picture. If you don't keep up with morning commute, they will run you over.

On March 19th, 2012, I was driving through Texas on my way to Albuquerque from Little Rock. I was about 10 miles west of the Big Cross. Last week I pasted 240,000.

I'm the 3rd registered owner, picked it up from Providence RI with 188,XXX on it.

I believe I registered the mileage with Volvo of USA but don't think they ever sent me anything. I had a 740 GLE with over 400,000 miles on it.

It's 13 days later and 1,000 miles have come and gone. Heading down the highway again and about the same place she turned, and now has at least 45 more on it.

That is awesome!

It would take me a little over 9 years to get to 300k at this point. I doubt that will happen. :o

Well thank you. Most days it's 100 mile to work and home so it adds up fast. My sister-in-law was original owner, so it has stayed in the family.

Thanks Justin.
I'm thinking about changing the transmission fluid. As far as I know, it has never been changed.
I talked about it a year or so but never did it after the axle problem.

Slow changes - drain and fills! Probably could do it every weekend at the rate you put miles on :D

Hi everyone, my name is Al - I'm new to the forum. I was creeping around a couple months ago when I was researching repairs for a '96 850 GLT wagon that I was thinking about buying. I did end up buying it and it had 219xxx km on it in Dec. 2010, at which point the odometer broke. The previous owners didn't drive it much so I'm guessing it's around 240,000 now. I'l be putting a lot of miles on it with a 100 km round-trip commute. If I can hit 300,000 km I'll be pretty happy with the purchase.
