The driver side mirror on my 2002 s60 has a light lens on the bottom, however I've never seen it lit. It looks like the light was an option, but I bought used so I have no idea if car had it.
Does the lens indicate that the option was ordered, or did they all have them even if they're just blanks?
Also the driver mirror remote works fine, but the glass assembly is a bit loose, at low speeds this isn't a problem, but at speed it vibrates quite a bit. My guess is some internal retaining spring is missing or disconnected.
Is the assembly easy to open?
Thanks!
Mirror, mirror on the door.....

Sorry can't find any info on the lights in the mirror.
10 minutes later found this:
With regard to the mirror glass, there are no springs in the mirror housing. The glass clips on to an inner mount which is part of the motor unit.
To remove the glass: Push it in at the side nearest to the door. Grasp the outer edge of the glass and pull it lengthways until it releases, then work it clear of the housing and disconnect the terminal pins. You should now be able to see if any of the retaining hooks are broken.
To replace the glass: Connect the terminal pins. Fold out the mirror mount on the motor. Hook the glass onto the mount and press the whole unit into place.

Approach lighting
When approaching the car at night, press the yellow button in the central locking remote control (see illustration on page 117). This lights up the interior courtesy lights, parking lights, license plate lights and the lights in the sideview mirrors.
