Some sort of turbo boost signal error I think. Let's get Board wisdom on the MAF disconnecting today

P0236 is the MAP sensor, barometric sensor, altitude sensor, etc. Here is a short write up on how to find and replace it:
http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread ... 00-(p0237)
The p0238 = turbo/superboost sensor A circuit high input. This is also affected by the MAP sensor.

Let's go back to IPD and order up a MAP sensor ...good news is this one is a no tool replacement. Don't forget to remind them they owe you free shipping for making you wait for your MAF.
Your P0442/x code for EVAP might come back in 100 miles or so- you probably have a minor leak in that system but lets worry about that another day. Its not the cause of your stalling. Dont freak if your CEL comes back on in a few days.
Since it's beautiful fall day out This morning, I'll take some pix. I did mine this Spring, I thought I had thread on this but I can't find it.

Thanks Abscate and Klaus for posting the links on the MAP sensor. Indeed, I will most likely break those tabs.
I will order MAP sensor tonight and see what happens next. Anything special for replacement?
Ie. Disconnect battery or clear codes before or after replacement?
Should I drive with unplugged MAF for now as it runs much better that way?
Thanks in advance,
Amy

PS Anyone need a new Bosch MAF? It was $130 and can't be returned. Any takers for $100?

Before you order the part, can you give us new code readings from your scanner? The parts are expensive and I don't want you to get the wrong part.
BTW, some of the earlier codes pointed to the boost controler. I am not sure of your model, the location changes yearly it seems, but is usually close to the air cleaner. On my 1998 it was a small black box behind the air cleaner with 3 vacuum lines and 1 electrical plug. If one of the vacuum lines comes loose, drivability will be a problem.

Per earlier post, after MAF replacement
Have a look at the turbo boost valve hoses, but I doubt that would cause your stalling unless they had fallen off.
That is the right part for your MAP, if you look at the last pic in the MAP thread you will see its the same. I had to wiggle mine hard to pop it out, grabbing the body of the valve firmly with pliers, down low on the electrical connector.
I'll PM you on the MAF.
Only two codes on reader as of today:
P0238
P0236

I have no idea if the following is indicative of anything related but upon starting the the car, it does put off a nice smoky could. Not dark at all. And there's liquid spitting out of the exhaust onto the floor of the garage I have noticed too.
